The Origin Curved Face Irons have been named in Golf Monthly's Editor's Choice 2026, a list of the 120 best products in golf this year.
A curved face counteracts off-center hits, tightening dispersion so misses finish closer to the hole. Golf Monthly's Joe Ferguson tested our Origin irons against a flat-faced equivalent built to identical specs. His findings matched what we see daily in our fitting bays:
"At full speed... I was noticeably tighter in dispersion and observing exceptionally straight ball flights," Ferguson wrote. "The technology absolutely delivered on its promise."
It started on a driving range with Mike Schy and one of his Tour players. Mike suggested adding face curvature to an iron, to tighten dispersion on near-perfect strikes. He hand-ground a subtle curve into a raw forging.
Face curvature progresses from pitching wedge to 4-iron, growing more pronounced as loft decreases, matching the natural rise in clubhead and ball speed through the longer irons. The result: shots start closer to target, misses drift less, and dispersion tightens across the set.
Who is it for?
- 95+ mph 7-iron speed: Curved-face strongly recommended, the biggest gains in consistency and dispersion.
- 85–95 mph: Curved-face still gives an edge, especially at the top of this range.
- Under 85 mph: The difference is less noticeable.
Tighter dispersion on mishits adds up to lower scores over a round, and now, an Editor's Choice award to back it up.
